After most of the fireworks celebrating American Independence 250 went off Saturday night, a round of storms moved through the region to finish the day with a bang.

The National Weather Service issued several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for the Lakes Region as showers made their way through the Ozarks bringing an end to nearly a week without rain.

While no storm damage reports have been submitted to the NWS from the Lakes Region, many surrounding areas including the Joplin area in Missouri and the Conway area in Arkansas had reports of high winds and tree damage. Some areas including Mount Vernon in Missouri had reports of Flash Flooding.

Some rain chances linger today with cooler temperatures expected into the middle of the week.
