A 79-year-old man from Forsyth is dead after a vehicle he was driving went into Lake Taneycomo.
According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon when the vehicle was traveling south on Mt. Vernon Blvd, crossed Highway Y and entered a parking area at Empire Park before continuing off the road and into Lake Taneycomo.
Emergency personnel got the driver out of the submerged vehicle and took him to Cox Medical Center Branson were he was later pronounced dead.
This is the 78th Fatality worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2026.
