The National Weather Service has moved southern Missouri to an Extreme Heat Warning beginning today and going through Sunday.
Forecasters indicate that Heat Index readings could reach as high as 110 as more heat builds in for the weekend.
Northern Arkansas remains under a Heat Advisory which also has been extended until Sunday.
No major rain is expected; however, pop-up showers are possible. A couple of severe thunderstorms developed in Greene and Christian Counties Wednesday, causing some tree damage and power outages in the Nixa area.
