Prior to the Ozarks getting two to three inches of rain on Wednesday, the U.S. Drought Monitor released its latest map showing the levels of drought remaining in the Lakes Region.
Areas in northern Arkansas north and east of a Harrison-Jasper line are mostly at an Extreme Drought Level with water levels extremely low. The majority of the rest of region including the Branson area are at a Severe Level.
There is more rain in the forecast for today as well as next Tuesday which could help reverse the dry trend that has persisted so far in 2026.
