One man is dead and another in custody after a shooting late Saturday night.
According to court documents filed by the Taney County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Stinger Drive at the Bee Creek Apartments north of Branson. A vehicle driven by Michael Froman is alleged to to have passed another vehicle driven by and then blocked it from moving forward. Froman then got out and started shouting at the driver of the other vehicle, identified as Cody Maples. As soon as he exited the vehicle, Froman is accused of shooting Maples three times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Froman had been taken to Cox South Hospital for a gunshot wound to the hand and talked briefly with deputies later before deciding not to say anymore until he could contact an attorney. Two witness statements, including one from the victims girlfriend, seem to back-up that Froman instigated the incident.
He was arrested and booked into the Taney County Jail on charges of Second-Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action.
Froman is being held without bond awaiting an appearance in Taney County Circuit Court.
