Tuesday's Branson Board of Aldermen Meeting held several discussions looking at reforming processes and procedures that are seen as obstacles to development within the city.
The first discussion was a part of a presentation from the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB. President/CEO Pam Yancey addressed the board regarding the chamber becoming more proactive in discussing legislative priorities on a local level. Yancey told the board about input they have received from developers which led to the presentation of 11 points that could help make things more streamline, including time requirements for the submitting of plans and their approval. The presentation also included suggested changes for requirements to allow for more flexibility in developments.
Later in the meeting, a separate agenda item brought forth by Alderman Glenn Schulz asked the board to consider establishing an Advisory Board consisting of Professionals that could help guide the city on making changes to procedures. A lengthy discussion followed which tied into some of the previous items mentioned in the chamber presentation. Discussion also centered on the need for professional input while also utilizing processes and systems already in place including Planning and Zoning.
Both presentations ended with mentions of moving forward to continue improving the process for future city development.
