The College of the Ozarks Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has recently been ranked as the Best BSN Program in the State of Missouri, according to nursingprocess.org.
The Armstrong McDonald School of Nursing achieved this honor based on outstanding NCLEX pass rates and data from the Department of Education, State Board of Nursing, and U.S. News and World Report. Graduates from the classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021 all achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the NCLEX-RN® licensing exam.

According to nursingprocess.org, a list of all nursing schools offering BSN programs were graduated in every state and then ranked based on the average NCLEX-RN first time pass rates of recent five years, academic quality (enrollment rate, graduation rate & retention rate), and nursingprocess.org editorial staff ratings and nursing school reputation.

Founded in 2006, The Armstrong McDonald School of Nursing provides students with effective training while pursuing their mission: “To present a Christ-centered, biblically-based, character-driven nursing education program, while preparing qualified individuals for a spiritual role as a professional nurse, providing service to Christ and humankind.”
The program has achieved outstanding results since its inception — earning consistently high scores on the NCLEX-RN exam, achieving a 100 percent satisfaction rate among employers, and 100 percent job placement for graduates, often prior to graduation. Recent employer surveys indicate the College of the Ozarks nursing graduate “has the knowledge and skills to perform work requirements in a highly effective manner.” Clinical partners have consistently reported that “students demonstrate effective critical thinking, confidence and initiative, and a teachable spirit.”
Alumni consistently rate the nursing faculty as the top reason for their success. In the final semester of the program, the faculty place students with RN staff in a one-on-one preceptorship for 220 hours to acclimate them to a typical patient caseload, preparing for post-graduation RN responsibilities. Following preceptorship, students spend the last six weeks of the semester fine-tuning their NCLEX test preparation with individualized coaching from faculty and completing a formal NCLEX review course.
