Branson Elevates Deputy City Clerk to Interim Status

The City of Branson’s Deputy City Clerk, Hillary Briand, has been named Acting City Clerk effective today.

According to a release from the city, Briand brings extensive experience having worked for the City for 15 years as the Deputy City Clerk. Before joining the City of Branson, she served as the Chief Election Deputy in the Taney County Clerk’s Office. Briand has the Missouri Registered City Clerk (MRCC) Certification, is a registered member of the National Association for Parliamentarians and has served on several District City Clerk and State City Clerk Committees.

Former City Clerk, Lisa Westfall last day on the job was last Friday after announcing her retirement back in January after 33 years serving the City of Branson.

As Acting City Clerk, Hillary will assume all the responsibilities of the City Clerk until the position is filled. These responsibilities include maintaining and housing the records of the City while preserving the transparency of the City’s governmental processes. As a Missouri Fourth Class municipality, the Branson City Clerk is appointed by the Board of Aldermen.
