Gregory “Greg” James Young, age 70, passed away on December 5, 2025.
Gregory “Greg” James Young, age 70, of Hollister, Missouri, passed on December 4, 2025. He entered this life on January 17, 1955, the son of Raymond and Helen (Tomlinson) Young in Saint Ann, Missouri.
A man of many talents, Greg was an avid outdoorsman, a brilliant electrician, and an amateur photographer. He had a knack for finding a good time doing just about anything. Greg’s travels took him throughout the USA and Europe. He was passionate about wildlife conservation, and was equally talented in fishing, bowhunting, and target shooting. Greg had a heart for local service and volunteered at Missouri School for the Blind. But above all, he was a captivating storyteller with a unique collection of experiences and adventures that never failed to turn an ordinary conversation into the highlight of your day. The memories and moments created throughout Greg’s life will be cherished by all who knew him.
Greg is survived by his son, Daniel Young; sisters: Betty Goehler and Jeanie Vitale; and his sister-in-law, Pat Young. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gerald Young.
There are no formal services planned at this time. Memorial donations in Greg’s name may be made to Missouri School for the Blind - 3815 Magnolia Ave, St Louis, MO 63110. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
