Don Howe

Don Howe, age 85, passed away on February 3, 2026.

Beloved husband, brother and decorated veteran, Don Howe passed away surrounded by his family on February 3, 2026 at his home in Branson at the age of 85.

Born Donald Lee Howe on July 6, 1940, he was one of three children born to Dolphus & Aileen (Ellison) Howe.  He graduated from Branson High School and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia.  Don had a distinguished career in the United States Air Force.  He served over 22 years as a navigator, traveling the world and valiantly serving during the Vietnam War. He earned many meritorious and outstanding awards as well as the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Upon retirement from the military, Don enjoyed traveling and spending time on the farm in Mincy.  He was an outdoorsman and loved animals, deer and taking in the wonder of creation. 

Don married his loving wife, Elizabeth (nee Michel) on December 8, 2003 on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  He was a man of faith and was a member of the Presbyterian Old Stone Church.  He enjoyed time with family, especially if it involved a good meal.  He was a man of honor and faith. He valued his family, friends and the life he had lived all over the world but especially in the woods of Taney County.

Don will be greatly missed by his wife, Liz Howe of Branson; step-son, Eric Lowe of Olathe, KS; brother, Larry Howe of Ozark and sister, Betty Stoll of Branson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus & Aileen Howe.

Memorial services will be Friday, March 20, 2026.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the memorial service following at 2:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, 1638 E. Hwy 76, Branson, MO.
