25 years after claiming the program's last title, the Reeds Spring Girls Basketball Program can add another First Place Plaque to the trophy case.
The Lady Wolves, after claiming second place last season behind Rogersville, took the next step and pulled away from Aurora in this Class 4 District 11 Title Game 40-29. The Lady Houns slowed down their offense to prevent the Reeds Spring from getting into a flow, but the Lady Wolves eventually got on track offensively and their defense shut Aurora down in the fourth quarter to grab the title.
Saylor Johnson led the Lady Wolves with 19 points.
Reeds Spring will take on Nevada in the Class 4 Sectional Game Monday in Monett at 6:00.
Meanwhile, a Lakes Region team will try to win the boys side of that tournament today as the Forsyth Panthers look to end their own District Championship drought as they will play Springfield Catholic in Hollister at 3:00 in a game that can be heard on MOARK Sports.
