Basketball Week: Branson Girls, Harrison Boys In Tournaments, Other News

The second week of December is wrapping up with Basketball Tournament Games for two area teams.

Branson Girls
The Lady Pirates, coming off a second place finish at the Fair Grove Tournament, is in Joplin at the annual Freeman Health Basketball Classic. The Lady Pirates began play on Thursday with a 67-41 loss to Blue Valley North from Kansas. The Lady Pirates will play a consolation game at 6:00 this evening against fellow Ozark Mountain Conference school Carl Junction.

Harrison Boys
The Goblins are in Rogers for a tournament and won 42-32 over Providence Academy. The Goblins will take on Rogers in the next round this evening then finish play with Conway on Saturday.

Harrison Girls
The Lady Goblins rebounded after losing their first game at the Billy Ply Classic in Flippin last week, getting victories over Cotter and Fountain Lake. The Lady Goblins are back in action tonight with a rematch at Clinton, who defeated the Lady Goblins earlier this year in a tournament. 

Branson Boys
Coming off their championship at the Forsyth Tournament, the Pirates won their only game this week, knocking off Harrison Tuesday 70-49.

Forsyth
The Boys have been off this week after their second place finish in their tournament and return to action tonight at West Plains. The Girls dropped two games this week, Tuesday to Lockwood and Thursday to Marionville. 

Reeds Spring
The Lady Wolves, after their championship run at the Blue Eye Tournament, lost their first game of the season at Cassville on Monday but rebounded Thursday with a 40-33 home win over Springfield Catholic. The Wolves dropped a 58-50 decision to Diamond on Tuesday and will seek their first win of the season tonight at home against Cassville.

Hollister
After a 1-2 finish in last week's tournament at Crane, the Lady Tigers dropped a 59-44 decision to Monett and will play host to Spokane tonight in a game that can be heard on MOARK Sports Dot Com. The Tigers lost to Ava in their only game this week and return to action with games next Tuesday at Gainesville and Thursday hosting Monett.

Blue Eye
The Bulldogs won 62-40 over School of the Ozarks on Tuesday and play in Springfield against New Covenant Academy tonight. The Lady Bulldogs meanwhile finished fifth in their tournament then followed that with a win at New Covenant Academy then a loss Thursday to Cassville.
