Nearly a year after admitting to setting a fire at an apartment complex, the person responsible for the fire has been sentenced to prison.
According to court documents, Angie Maiwald will serve 15 years for a Felony Charge of Arson with seven years to be served concurrently on a Felony Charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Maiwald admitted setting fire to the Oak Apartments in Kimberling City on March 22 of last year. Maiwald, who lived in the complex, fled the scene but left a child unattended behind. She was later found nearby and arrested.
The fire displaced 32 individuals and 19 families according to the probable cause affidavit.
