Update on Ribbon Cutting for Re-Opening of Downtown Harrison Bridge

The ribbon cutting time and location for the reopening of the a bridge in Downtown Harrison has been set.

According to a release from the city, the event will take place two weeks from today, Friday August 14, at the south end of the Business 65 Bridge near the corner of Main Street and Lakeshore Drive at 10:00 am. 

The Bridge has been closed since January of 2024 for reconstruction. The reopening of the bridge will once again provide a direct connection between the downtown region and areas including the Northwest Arkansas District Fairgrounds and the South Campus of North Arkansas College of the University of Arkansas. 

In a separate release, Harrison Mayor Jerry Jackson hopes the community will come out in force to celebrate the accomplishment and thank those responsible including the Arkansas Department of Transportation and the West Plains Bridge Company.
