An Ozark County woman has been arrested for writing hot checks and attempting to cash a check from a man’s account who had died years earlier. Thirty-six-year-old April Dawn Perry of Gainesville is facing five felony charges in the cases.
According the probable cause affidavits in the cases, Perry allegedly cashed a pair of two-party checks at Town and Country Supermarket in Gainesville from a local business. Both checks were unsigned and made out to Perry.
Both checks were returned to the store and marked as unable to find an account. Store employees identified Perry as the person who cashed the checks and she was photographed in the store.
