National Weather Service Forecasters have now added more areas of the Lakes Region to a Winter Weather Advisory ahead of a front that will bring some snow and much colder temperatures.
NWS Meteorologists in Little Rock and Tulsa have now added the Arkansas Counties of Carroll, Madison, Newton, and Searcy to the advisory area which earlier included Boone and Marion Counties while the Missouri Lakes Region Counties of Barry, Ozark, Stone, and Taney had been under the advisory since this morning.
Precipitation has ended across most of the region but a small band of precipitation is expected across the region early this evening in the form of drizzle followed by some light freezing rain and snow flurries. Little if any ice accumulation is expected with snow accumulation expected to stay under an inch. Some area roads could get slick as freezing from earlier rain may create some slick spots on area roads.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Cold Weather Advisory for the region with the front bringing in arctic air and northerly wind gusts of up to 30 MPH bringing in wind chill readings of zero to five below.
