MISSOURI — With the school year approaching soon, buyers can take advantage of the tax-free holiday to make cheaper purchases.
The sales tax holiday this year will begin on the first Friday in August, which lands on Aug. 1, and run through Sunday, Aug. 3. The sales tax holiday applies to state and local sales taxes.
Here’s what qualifies:
- Clothing, including diapers and shoes, that has a taxable value of $100 or less.
- The term does not include watches, watchbands, jewelry, handbags, handkerchiefs, umbrellas, scarves, ties, headbands, or belt buckles
