What is the Potential Heat Index Readings for This Week? Update

The National Weather Service has posted a Heat Advisory for parts of the Lakes Region this week. 

As with the advisories posted earlier this month, this advisory impacts the Missouri Ozarks and will begin Monday afternoon and go until Tuesday evening. 

The warm-up is already underway with highs today to expected to be in the mid 90s with Heat Index readings just above 100. 

While a Heat Advisory is currently not in effect for northern Arkansas, the entire reading can expect higher temperatures Monday with highs in the upper 90s and Heat Index readings up to 107 in some areas. 

The hottest day of the season is forecast for Tuesday as actual temperatures are expected to be at 100 or greater. 

A few pop-up showers are possible of the next two days while the movement of the High Pressure system causing the hot conditions will move east and is forecast to bring temperatures back down into the 90s by Wednesday.
