Slow moving showers have prompted the National Weather Service to issue Flash Flood Warnings for parts of the Lakes Region.
UPDATE 10:15: The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Boone and Newton Counties until 11:45.
As of 9:00 Saturday evening, Flash Flood Warnings have been posted for all of Boone County including the Harrison and Omaha areas until 10:15. That warning also includes northwest Newton County. Another warning as been posted for Southeastern Carroll and North Central Madison Counties including the Kingston area until 11:45.
Weather observers have noted rainfall amounts already pushing three inches in the warned area with more rain expected into the overnight hours.
The area of showers are slowly moving northward and could impact parts of the Missouri Lakes Region tonight and early Sunday morning. Parts of Barry County in Missouri are included in a Flood Advisory for heavy rain that has already fallen this evening.
