The morning rain in the Lakes Region has raised the humidity in the region and also led the National Weather Service to reinstate the Excessive Heat Warning for southern Missouri.
The statement from the NWS Office in Springfield states that Heat Index Readings will approach 110 with temperatures at 100. More rain is in the forecast for later today and temperatures to be slightly cooler over the weekend with high's Saturday and Sunday expected in the low to mid 90's.
