Many Law Enforcement Agencies are teaming up with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to remind drivers of the dangers of distracted driving.
This week is the “U Drive. U Text. U Pay” high-visibility enforcement effort. A special emphasis will be placed to enforce texting and distracted driving laws this week.
The national agency says around 32,500 people died in distracted-affected crashes between 2011 and 2020. Other data shows that younger drivers are the most likely to be involved in distracted driving accidents.
