A new water meter system is continuing to be implemented in Branson.
The release from the city is below:
A more accurate and efficient water meter system is continuing to roll out across Branson.
Through the City’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, crews are replacing residential water meters and adding small meter transmitters that securely send water usage information to the City’s meter reading system.
So far, about 3,800 of the approximately 4,400 meters included in the project have been installed.
For customers, this technology is designed to make water service information more accurate and responsive. Once complete, the system will help reduce estimated reads, limit manual reading errors, support more accurate billing, and help identify unusual water use more quickly.
That faster notification can make a real difference. Continuous water use may be caused by something as simple as a running toilet, an irrigation issue, or a service line leak. AMI can help flag those potential concerns sooner, giving customers a better chance to address them before they lead to a higher-than-expected bill.
The small meter transmitter does not record video, take photos, control your water, or affect your water service. It is only used to transmit meter reading information.
Please do not remove, cover, or tamper with the small meter transmitter. If your meter lid or transmitter appears damaged or unsafe, please contact the City of Branson Utilities Department at 417-243-2731.
