Three Fatality Crashes in 24 Hour Period in Lakes Region

Three fatality traffic crashes take place in the Lakes Region within a 24- hour period Sunday and Monday. 

Two of the crashes happened in Missouri in Stone County. The first on Sunday takes place on Old Wire Road west of Crane around 2:50 that took the life of 51-year-old Linda Meyers of Springfield. Meyers was a passenger in a vehicle that left the road and struck several fence posts and overturned according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Report. Two others in the vehicle, 37-year-old Andrew Davis of Crane and 37-year-old Candace Sartin of Marionville sustained serious injuries while a juvenile female suffered moderate injuries. All were taken to Springfield Hospitals for treatment.

The other Stone County Crash happened Monday morning around 11:30 east of Cape Fair on Highway 76, when a motorcycle driven by 71-year-old Richard Hill of Mississippi left the highway, overturned and ejected Hill from the bike. Hill was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield where he died several hours later. 

One crash also takes place in rural Carroll County in Arkansas that claimed the life of a woman from Berryville. According to the Arkansas State Police, the crash happened late Sunday afternoon around 5:40, when a vehicle driven by 81-year-old Christine Marshall travelled off Highway 21 and hit a tree. Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene.
