The Harrison Police Department reports on their Facebook Page about the latest scam that has impacted many Americans.
According to the post, multiple police forces are now urging citizens to delete each dangerous text coming to their devices as soon as it is received. It’s the unpaid toll scam that sends tailored messages within a city or state dressed up to look like it’s coming from the local toll collection agency. The message states that unless payment is received immediately, the fines will escalate. The scam is designed to get personal financial information.
