Taney County Teenager Dies in Friday Morning Traffic Crash

An accident early Friday morning on Highway 76 in Kirbyville takes the life of a teenager from Powersite.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Traffic report, the 16-year-old female, not named in the accident report, was driving a SUV when it crossed the centerline at which time the driver overcorrected with the vehicle them beginning to skid running off the roadway hitting a guidewire and overturning coming to a rest on its top. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. 

This is the 29th fatality in traffic crashes worked by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D in 2023.
