A line of severe thunderstorms roared through the Ozarks on Tuesday with the strongest storms hitting areas between Joplin and Springfield.
The National Weather Service so far has confirmed two tornados; an EF-1 that traveled just over two miles between Verona and Aurora and an EF-0 that was on the ground for just under a mile on the north side of Nixa. Several trees were uprooted, and some structure damage occurred with both twisters.
Wind gusts were also the strongest in the Springfield Area with a 90 MPH gust reported in an area between Willard and the Springfield/Branson Airport.
The Lakes Region did have several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued Tuesday, but storms were not as strong, and no damage was reported.
While there still is a Marginal to Slight Risk of severe storms today, the primary concern is continued rainfall. A Flood Watch remains in effect thru early Thursday morning.
