A pattern of stormy and rainy weather will be in the region through today.
National Weather Service Forecasters indicate that some areas could receive periods of heavy rain. Most of the heavy rain currently is forecast for areas north of the Lakes Region. A Flood Watch is in effect for the much of west central Missouri including the metro Springfield area but currently not for the Lakes Region.
Some severe storms could be possible with the approaching cold front with the strongest chance being in areas of the Lakes Region in both Missouri and Arkansas. A marginal to slight chance for severe weather is possible in the Lakes Region with hail and windy conditions the biggest hazards.
