Approaching the two year mark of voter approval, the Stone County Ambulance District reaches a milestone in its development.

According to a post on the district's Facebook page, last week they were notified that they received their official service license from the Missouri Bureau of EMS, a division of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The license certifies the district as an official Ground Ambulance Service for the next five years.

Just prior to the notification, Ambulance District Director Jeff Hawkins was interviewed on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program about how the district has developed since county voter's approved the formation of the district in April of 2024. Hawkins outlined the formation of the Board of Directors and the initial steps that led to his hiring as director last August. One of the early things he worked on was the finalization of the agreement with Mercy to supply ambulance service to the district.

Hawkins also talked about the recently opened Ambulance Station in Branson West and the new Station that will be completed in Crane later this summer and down the road, will develop a headquarters building centrally located around the Branson West area.
