Springfield Police have identified two people who died in a weekend traffic crash as Christian County Residents.
According to a release from the department, the victims were identified as 79-year-old Gerald Douglas of Ozark and 35-year-old Sarah Kittrell of Nixa.
According to the accident report, Douglas's vehicle was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of National and Montclair Saturday afternoon when his vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Kittrell. Both drivers later died at a Springfield Hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Springfield Police is asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call their department at 417-864-1810.
