The Branson Board of Aldermen will hold a Special Meeting this evening at 6:00 to consider Zoning Regulation Restrictions.
The Board will look at the regulations that were recommended at a Special Planning Commission Meeting on Monday which was in response to a moratorium the city had instituted for potential Data Center and Mining Businesses.
The revision of the regulations include the definition of Data Centers which added language to include Bitcoin Mining and Crypto Processing and other proposals to regulate sound and to set aside the areas such a business would be allowed to exist. It also defined the type of building that would be required for the use.
A business proposal for a Data Center came before the board earlier this summer with the city staff recommending the moratorium to have time to develop regulations.
The Board will conduct a Public Hearing and have a First Reading of the Ordinance at tonight's meeting. If passed, a Second Reading will take place at the next regular meeting on August 13.
