The release from Skaggs Foundation is below:
The cost of higher education is only getting more expensive, but Skaggs Foundation works to reduce the financial barrier for local individuals who are pursuing or advancing a career in the medical field.
Between Feb. 20 and April 3, Skaggs Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the summer and fall 2023 semesters.
“Our scholarship program is a win-win for our community,” explains Grace Nash, who oversees Skaggs Foundation scholarship program. “We are empowering individuals to reach their full potential while doing our part to help fill vacancies in the local healthcare industry with quality, highly skilled individuals.”
To qualify, scholarship applicants need to have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better; be a resident of Stone or Taney counties in Missouri or Boone County, Ark.; or be an employee or family member of an employee of Cox Medical Center Branson.
Since the scholarship fund was established, Skaggs Foundation has awarded $473,700 to students.
