The new Christmas Tree that will be a part of this year's "An Old Time Christmas" celebration at Silver Dollar City received a grand welcome on Saturday.
The 45-foot Grand Fir has been enroute from Oregon to the Lakes Region and finished the trip with a parade through Branson. Several vehicles gathered at Lloyd's Electric then made the trip down Highway 65 onto W 76 Country Music Blvd. where it was welcomed by many people lining the street between 65 and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. Branson Police escorted the procession through town later taken over by the Stone County Sheriff's Office. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Taney County Sheriff's Office, Branson Fire Rescue, and Southern Stone County Fire were among the other agencies that were a part of the escort. Many businesses along the route also had representatives out to welcome the tree.
The tree will be on display during the "An Old Time Christmas" celebration that begins on November 1.
