Several Events in the Lakes Region for the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Several events are planned in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.

A list of some of those events today are below:

The City of Harrison will host its annual Memorial Ceremony at the Department's Fire Station on Industrial Park Drive at 8:45 am. The ceremony will honor those who lost their lives that day, especially the number of first responders who answered the call and never returned home. The Fire Station will also be the site of the annual First Responders Lunch co-sponsored by the Harrison Kiwanis, Lions, and Rotary Clubs between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.  

College of the Ozarks will hold a special ceremony at the Lest We Forget 9/11 Memorial located next to the Point Lookout Fire Department on James Forsythe Drive beginning at 9:00 am. This year's guest speaker is retired Navy Rear Adm. Hank Molinengo, who is a distinguished military lawyer, educator, and community volunteer who served more than 26 years in the Navy, including key leadership roles during the Global War on Terror.

Silver Dollar City will host a special ceremony beginning at Noon. According to a release from the theme park, Silver Dollar City will pause all activities at that time and park attendees are encouraged to join in that moment of silence. At 12:02, Branson Entertainer Allen Asbury will lead the National Anthem from the Gazebo on the Square. Area first responders will be present as the Honor Guard puts the flag at half-staff. 

Other attractions and events are planning special ceremonies including Black Oak Amphitheater, with a special 9/11 Anniversary Show including music from Big and Rich and Craig Morgan. Ceremonies honoring first responders and all branches of the military will be a part of the show hosted by Legends 1063's host of "The Upside" Josh Clark. Showtime is at 6:30 pm. 

The H.O.G. Rally event in Downtown Branson is also planning on incorporating a 9/11 Remembrance into their activities today.
