Rock The Spectrum set to Rock Branson Landing This Weekend

Cristal and Brent Hedrick talked Friday about this weekend's Rock The Spectrum event.

The Hedricks appeared on KRZK's "The Upside with Josh and Them" to discuss it. The event has been running for 14 years. The family friendly event starts at 2 p.m. at the Branson Landing. The Hedricks run the event in honor of their goddaughter who was diagnosed with autism. This event raises awareness about the spectrum and raises money for families with children on the spectrum.

A bounce house, face painting and character meet and greet are among the many things Rock The Spectrum offers. DJ Kolmega will play this year in addition to other live entertainment.

Prince tribute band The Purple Experience will play from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Brent Hedrick touched on the importance of awareness.

He said it's not enough to attend the event; people must take steps to help people living with autism and any special needs feel welcome. Local business have joined in and done their part in this effort.
