During Tuesday night's Branson Board of Aldermen meeting, a resolution was read to recognize K-9 Tygo and authorize an ownership transfer from the City of Branson to Tygo’s handler; the transfer was approved.
Branson Police Chief Jeff Matthews presented the resolution. Matthews said that the 7-year-old Tygo had to be retired from the service after being diagnosed with a terminal health condition. He said there is a bond built between the K-9 and the handler. The transfer in ownership to Branson Police Officer Brendan Gamble costs $1. Matthews added that Tygo was taken out of service three to four weeks ago on the veterinarian’s recommendation.
