The rain and snow that fell over the Lakes Region last weekend has stalled drought levels in the Lakes Region.
The latest map released Thursday by the U.S. Drought Monitor shows southern Missouri remaining mostly at a Moderate Drought Level with some areas even lower at Abnormally Dry. The drought is still the hardest in northern Arkansas with areas south and east of Harrison remaining at an Extreme Level while the rest of the region is a combination of Severe and Moderate Level.
According to the Drought Monitor Scale, areas in Extreme Drought are showing low water levels with major stress on vegetation and crops.
No rain is in the forecast for the next seven days according to the National Weather Service.
