A pedestrian sustains serious injuries when struck by a vehicle on Highway 76 early Sunday morning.
According to the report posted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:00 am as 54-year-old Steven Springwater of Springfield was walking in the middle of the highway when a vehicle crested the hill and struck Springwater.
The driver of the vehicle, 45-year-old Jason Elwood of Branson, was not injured in the crash while Springwater was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of his injuries.
