A pedestrian is struck and killed by a vehicle in Barry County Wednesday night.
According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Highway 39 in Shell Knob when a 35-year-old woman from Springfield was struck by a vehicle that fled from the scene. The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield where she was later pronounced dead. This is the 96th fatality in traffic incidents worked by Troop D of the MSHP in 2025.
