A Branson School Bus sustains minor damage after a collision with a pick-up truck this morning in Merriam Woods.

According to a post from the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, firefighters along with responders from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Taney County Ambulance, and the Taney County Sheriff's office were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 176 and Driftwood.

According to the post, the pick-up truck sustained heavy damage and a person in the pick-up sustained minor injuries while the bus only had minor damage and all 15 students that were on the bus were evaluated and eventually picked-up by another bus and taken to school.

A follow-up report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the pick-up driver as 29-year-old Blaine Bias of Merriam Woods. The report said Bias’s truck crossed the centerline and hit the bus head on. Bias was taken to Cox Medical Center Branson for treatment of moderate injuries.

This was one of two collisions involving school busses Thursday morning as one took place in Springfield. No students were injured in that crash.
