One Dead in Officer Involved Shooting in Branson

A person is dead after a shooting involving a Branson Police Officer Tuesday evening.

According to a release from Branson Police, the shooting occurred around 10:00 pm at Dalton's Express Convenience Store and Gas Station on W. 76 Country Blvd. and Stanley Street. The release did not state what led to the shooting but did say that one person was deceased, no officers were injured, and there is no on-going threat to the public. 

According to a report from the Branson Tri-Lakes News, no official statement was made at the scene but it was reported that the officer involved was placed on administrative leave per department policy and also that the Missouri State Highway Patrol was on the scene to aid in the investigation. 

Branson Police said another release will be posted soon with more details on this incident.
