One area school district has increased security on their campuses after a threat last week.
Nixa Schools increased their security on Monday after a threat had been made by a Nixa High School Student on Friday.
School District Officials tell Ozarks First that this is just a precaution and they do not believe there is any threat to students or staff.
In a statement released by Nixa Schools and posted on Ozarks First, officials say that the threats plus other events at schools across the county led to them adding security with the cooperation with area law enforcement.
Officials encourage parents to speak to their children about the seriousness of threating statements and to report to officials if they hear anything that is concerning to them.
