A post from the Nixa government Facebook Page provides information about upcoming closures, and states that offices closed early on Dec. 22; the full post can be read below.
UPDATE:
Nixa City Offices are closing early today (12/22/2022) due to inclement weather.
This means Nixa City Hall, the Nixa Utility Billing Office, Nixa Police administrative offices, the Nixa Recycle Center, and Public Works administrative offices will be closed today at 12:30pm and will remain closed all day tomorrow, Friday December 23rd. (We were previously scheduled to close at noon on the 23rd for the holiday).
Nixa City Offices were also already scheduled to be closed on Monday Dec. 26 in observance of Christmas Day and will reopen on Tuesday December 27th.
Of course, we'll still be providing public services throughout the holiday weekend with Police Officers keeping our community safe, Utility Workers keeping the lights on and water running, and Public Works crews working to keep the roads safe as weather necessitates. Parks Department staff will also be operating The X Center according to the hours listed below. We're thankful for all the public servants on our staff do for our community even on the holidays when they'd rather be home with family.
The X Center will close today (12/22) at 5:00 p.m. All evening activities will be canceled.
The X Center will re-open on Friday (12/23) at 8:00 a.m. All fitness classes on Friday will be canceled.
The closure of Nixa City Hall means that candidates for city council and mayor will not be able to file as candidates for the remainder of today or tomorrow, however, they will be able to file at Nixa City Hall on Tuesday December 27th until 5pm, which is the state’s deadline for candidate filing.
