A new business that will combine recreation and leisure is announced for the Branson Area.

The Social Birdy will be located off of Branson Hills Parkway and will feature recreational features including a pickleball court and golf simulators plus a restaurant operated by the owners of the Downing Street Pour House of Hollister.

The project is being developed by the MMTC Development Group. Their full press release on the project is below:

Pickleball, a pro style golf putting course, golf simulators and Southwest Missouri’s favorite restaurant and bar have combined to create a new entertainment destination in Branson.
The Social Birdy is scheduled to break ground in early 2022 on Branson Hills Parkway. Designed as a novel hub for leisure and recreation, guests are encouraged to “hang out and swing easy” at the 9,000-square-foot social venue. It is a concept like no other in the region, according to Trey Pelz, founder and partner with MMTC Development Group.
“We want to create a setting where people of all ages can have fun, but also where active adults can leave the kids behind and engage in lively games while pursuing their own hobbies and interests. We want The Social Birdy to become peoples default for date night,” said Pelz.
Capitalizing on Branson’s reputation as a premiere golfing destination, The Social Birdy will include a 2,000-square-foot full-service golf shop that will carry name brands like TaylorMade, Titlist, Cobra, Nike, Puma and many more. Additionally, it will house an area where professionals can assist golfers with custom club fitting, golf lessons and much more.
“Golf has become more popular than ever during the pandemic with many people picking up the sport for the first time,” Pelz said. “We are here to help first-time and experienced golfers improve their game with personalized attention.”
Golfers and non-golfers can enjoy their game on a professional style 18-hole putting green, a feature previously unavailable in Southwest Missouri. “Our goal with our putting course was to design it in a way that would keep people engaged and having fun for all 18 holes,” said Trey. Pros and amateurs alike can also try their hands at one of the five golf simulator bays. Each simulator can take players to 80 different golf courses and operate several fun hybrid golf games.
Beyond golf, the simulators offer baseball, soccer and dodgeball and many more games—perfect for corporate outings, birthday parties, etc.
Four outdoor pickleball courts will answer the demand for the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. in 2021.
“Pickleball is such a great social sport that brings together people no matter what their skill or background,” Pelz said. “It’s just a low-key way to get some exercise and have fun with friends.”
The Social Birdy plans to host multiple pickleball leagues and tournaments as well.
The Downing Street Pour House of Hollister will operate the site’s 200-seat restaurant complete with a patio and fire pits, outdoor games and more. Craft beer and bourbon will be highlights of the restaurant alongside wood-fired American comfort foods.
Bocci ball, pool, ping-pong, shuffleboard, darts and corn hole (bean bag toss) round out the activities at The Social Birdy. Trivia nights and other events are in the planning stages.
“It’s a testament to the Branson market when we have another successful developer building such a remarkable new business,” said Jonas Arjes, Executive Vice President/Chief Economic Development Officer, Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB and Taney County Partnership.
“Offering great family-friendly experiences to both visitors and locals, this project has all the bells and whistles – fun activities, good food and drink, and you can get fitted for your custom golf clubs while you’re at it.”
The Social Birdy will be located on roughly three acres on Branson Hills Parkway, just west of Target. Construction is expected to be complete and the complex aims to open in 2022.
