NASA is bracing for deep staffing cuts following a proposed 24% budget reduction under the Trump administration’s 2026 plan.
Should this be implemented, it would be the largest cut to NASA ever proposed. The agency’s budget would fall to the lowest point since 1961, the year Alan Shepard became the first American to reach space.
