MO’s Congressional Delegation could depend on legality of signatures

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The new Missouri attorney general is defending the state’s new congressional districts approved by lawmakers late this summer. The new map is facing multiple legal challenges in Jefferson City though.

The map the legislature passed in September was seen as a way for Republicans to get a seventh member in Congress as opposed to the current six of eight makeup. Republican Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway came to FOX4 Monday for an interview.

“This new map actually keeps more whole counties together. It is more compact, she said. “Now I know if you look at it just from the Kansas City perspective, it looks like there’s a little sliver that goes into Kansas City.”
