JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed an array of bills last week, including one that will affect the way temporary tags are issued and time limits beginning next month.
Senate Bill 28 was first introduced to legislative members in January by Sen. Jason Bean (R-Holcomb), and was officially signed into law on July 2 by Kehoe during the special session.
The bill focuses on a variety of topics within the Missouri Department of Revenue’s process of purchasing a vehicle, registration, and temporary tags.
“The hope is that the growth of the legislation will eliminate the issue of temporary tags not being paid, thus generating more revenue for our highways, roads and bridges,” Missouri’s Department of Revenue Director of Communications JoDonn Chaney said.
