JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Propane Education & Research Council announces $1.46 million in funding assistance to Missouri school districts to purchase qualifying propane-powered school buses and necessary fueling infrastructure.
Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is providing funding through the FY 2026 Missouri Propane School Bus Grant. This grant will give school districts the option to have cleaner buses in their fleets, reduce harmful nitrogen oxide emissions and cut operating costs.
School districts can apply now until Dec. 15th, while local education agencies and charter schools can apply for reimbursement grants of $50,000 per propane bus for up to four buses per district. The program also includes up to $25,000 in reimbursements for fueling equipment as well.
