As the 2024 legislation draws to a close, the Missouri State House gave its final approval to the Federal Reimbursement Allowance, or the FRA, Wednesday.
The FRA is a tax on Medicare providers that helps fund reimbursements to doctors and hospitals. It is matched with federal funds to bring over $4 billion dollars of funding to the state.
An effort to ban Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood was signed by the governor in a separate bill, removing a key political issue that might have hindered approval of the FRA by the House.
