Missouri Department of Conservation considering fee increase to hunting, fishing licenses

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A half million Missouri hunters could be paying more for hunting and fishing licenses.

The Missouri Department of Conservation will vote in September on whether to increase prices, saying the potential increase is due to inflation.

“It just, it’s come down to the cost of conservation. The business continues to go up with inflation,” said Aaron Jeffries, deputy director of the MDC. “Whether it’s prescribed burning or establishing sunflower fields, you know, costs have gone up tenfold in some cases. And so this is just to help us can continue to offer those programs and services.”
