The Fairgrounds in Harrison will host a Mid-States Wrestling event on Oct. 7, according to Jason "Space Cowboy" Jones.
Jones, Southern Heavyweight Champion and wrestling promoter, appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to talk about the family friendly wrestling event. The Saturday indoor event starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the courtesy booth at Cash Saver 870 and online.
Jones said purchasing tickets online is the best option. Later, he talked about the family friendly nature of the events.
He explained that people who watched him wrestle years ago approached him at a booth during last week's fair. Many people who watched him with their grandparents as children took pictures with him and their own kids.
"I'm all about the family," Jones said. He has wrestled at bar shows, but he said Mid-States wrestling events came about from a desire to provide a show he watched as a child.
The shows are vulgarity free and seek to echo the wrestling shows of the early eighties. More was discussed during the broadcast.
The full interview with Jones is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
